Overview

This Agra food tour offers guests a deeper understanding of local life and local food. In addition to visiting the must-see Agra sights: the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The tour stops for chai at a village on the way to Agra. Offering an insight into rural life in India. Before visiting the Taj Mahal, guests will get a treat to a home-cooked lunch at our friend Ranjana’s house.

What to Expect

This private tour will allow you to witness the Taj Mahal and get an insight into local life. Your guide will meet you at your hotel or residence in Delhi at 6 am and he will accompany you throughout the day. Travelling by private air-conditioned car to Agra, the tour stops at a small village off of the highway. Here, guests can enjoy breakfast and a chai with the locals and your guide will facilitate conversation.

Once in Agra, we will proceed directly to Agra  Fort. While the Taj Mahal is the must-see sight, the fort is also spectacular and would be the crowning jewel of almost any other city.

We will take a pause for home-cooked lunch before heading towards the Taj Mahal. Ranjana will cook a vegetarian lunch and you are welcome to join her in the kitchen to lend her a hand. In the afternoon the tour will proceed to the Taj Mahal with the assistance of a locally certified expert guide. You will be encouraged to take as much time as you would like in the grounds, allowing you the chance to soak in every ounce of the rich architecture, history, and beauty of this world-famous mausoleum. Finally, the tour will return to Delhi by car, arriving back at your hotel by 9:30 pm.
